Coronavirus Information
24th February 2021
Following the Prime Minister's statement on the plans to exit lockdown in England and conversations today with the British Holiday Park Association (BH&HPA) we have an indication of when we will be able to reopen to holiday makers. Our Static Caravans can reopen on 12th April at the earliest. Unfortunately our camping field will need to remain closed until May 17th at the earliest due to the use of shared facilities. Anyone who already has a booking has been emailed. All affected bookings can be moved to another date this year or to the 2022 season.
17th July 2020
Our understanding of the VAT reduction on accommodation is to support the tourism industry and enable holiday providers to stabilise their financial position and help them recoup losses they have already incurred from 4 months of closure in a 7 month season. We have had huge losses this year and have just a few short weeks to make enough money to see us through next winter. It would be a huge administrative task to work out how much discount individuals would be entitled to as deposits were paid when the VAT was 20%, it is not as simple as taking off 15%. Our workforce is just too small to manage this. We have therefore decided not to pass on or share the reduction with people who have already booked this year. We hope that you understand and respect our decision.
For 2021 holidays booked and paid for in full by January 12th 2021 we will offer this years price with 5% VAT ie: a 12.5% discount.
16th July 2020
We have now been open for nearly two weeks, and on the whole things have gone well, We would like to thank everyone for following our new rules, one way systems, contactless booking in. etc, and replying to emails to let us know you are well on departure.
We are now virtually full for the whole summer which is wonderful for us, but we only have the odd night here and there camping, and only 3 weeks left in caravans for the week of the 29th August.
Please take note we are only allowing people to enter the site that have booked, please do not come on spec and just take a pitch as we are full and if there is a empty pitch there is a reason.
24th June 2020
We have finally been given the go ahead by the Government to reopen our caravans and campsite to holiday makers. This is fantastic news for us and our lovely customers. We have been given strict guidelines that we must follow to keep you, our staff and the local community safe from COVID19. As a result things may be a little different from what you have experienced before either here or on another holiday.
9th June 2020
Our site is still closed although we are beginning to make preparations to open again. We are still awaiting government guidelines on when and how we can open safely and continue to protect our staff, customers and the local community from Covid19. While we are asked to be closed we will of course refund or move any bookings that we have. Once we open we will be asking people not to come if they have any symptoms of Covid 19, as a result we are altering our terms and conditions so that you will be able to move your booking to another date if this happens even if it is at the last minute.
1st May 2020
These are unprecedented times. We all have a responsibility to consider not just ourselves but to the people of our country, the local community and on this park.
We have closed the site until the Government advises that it is safe to reopen.
We are taking future bookings from July and will of course refund or transfer your booking, if we are still unable to open.
Thank goodness for the support from Government which should help us to be ready to resume business just as soon as the crisis passes.
We are speaking to all caravan hire and camping bookings up to the end of June to ask them to stay away and to offer alternative dates when the crisis is over.
We will review the situation whenever there is more information from the Government.
