30 years at Eype House!

We have been coming to Eype every Easter with the Mussellwhite family and friends for years now. We absolutely love it!! Congratulations to your parents and Keith, Very Best Wishes
Ian and Sarah Forster.

We have been visiting Eype for more than ten years and love it (due again in June). Our little dog Tilly used to love it at Eype. Ian Tweedie

Can I just say what a lovely place it is and definitely try to go there every year with the kids as they find it a safe place for a holiday also it’s such a beautiful and well run place. We look forward to coming in July. Ian kingdon

I've stayed at Eype House many many times in a caravan.  My first visit was with my parents and sister 62 years ago in 1959, when I was nine.  Then Eype House was named Sunita, run I think by the Harley family, with the site named after their daughters Susan and Anita.  The site then consisted of just a square of vans, and we drew water from the pump whose remains are still there.  The lavatories (communal) were Elsan chemical and lighting was by gas.
I came several times with my parents and then with my wife after I married in 1976.  We brought our children on a number of occasions.  In recent years my wife and I have tended to visit Eype every other year before, in 2018, we started bring our grandchildren.  This year we have booked four vans together for a week, one for us and one each for our three sons, their wives and children - and dogs.  So you can see that the family is rather fond of the place.

We love Eype house, have been coming for 30 years and in 2007 we rented all your statics for our wedding. However, we don’t really have any photos of the park itself.  Our photos seem to be of the beach. Again, a lovely place and so well run.

That's amazing! 30 years!
I really did fall in love with your campsite and have come in all weathers, twice a year for a few years.
As I came alone, I really don't have any photos with me in them, apart from the one looking back from the hill, with campsite obscured by the mist. I have attached a few of my much loved pitch 9 showing the contrast in weather. A photo of a collapsed tent has surely to be included.
I did a lot of walking and loved looking back towards Eype Mouth, the campsite, which always felt like home. You all made it feel that way. Thank you so much for all the happy memories.
Have a wonderful celebration on the 1st of May.
Aline Robinson

We do have a lot of happy memories from our stays at Eype. My best memory is going to a quilt exhibition at the church 2 or 3 years ago. We won’t be coming this year but will be back next year.
Roy and Heather Wheeler

I've attached a  photo showing 4 pictures taken over the years. We first came to Eype in 1983 when our little boy was just over a year old, we stayed in one of the caravans at the bottom of the site, top left picture, we have been coming ever since with only the odd year where we missed coming, for our 3 children coming to Eype was more important than holidays abroad, and the bottom left picture shows some of our grandchildren with us. As you can see from the pictures we have gradually worked our way up to the top row.

Congratulations to your family on your 30 years in business, we absolutely love your  campsite and visiting 2/3 times per year for the last 10 years xxx

We have had many memories at Eype
We’ve been In the log pod, caravans and camping !
I’ve celebrated my 50th here with all of the family wearing my face !
Mike proposed to me on pitch 16
Our favourite pitch - as I said yes
And little Eva had many years here -
Even celebrating her birthday with a cream tea and the family joining us
The girls , Eva, Lilly and Daisy had a great time having freedom to play and tell stories by the campsite.
We saw a massive pink moon , we’ve hiked , had sun burn and snow !
The dog has been able to chill -
And each time we’ve come we have forgotten about the dreaded hill back from the toilet - Only to remember it when driving the van up there - everyone watching as you hope your driving skills don’t let you down- lol
We love pitch 16 and the memories we have made.
Thankyou all
Karen & Mike Fulford and Jack the dog

I always love my weekend at Eype need to come again soon.
Helen and Martin Jaszek

We've been coming for 20 years! I have so many amazing memories, we were usually on one of the top pitches and a photograph with our blue frame tent on is actually on your web site! My children grew up having their holidays at Eype and still feel like its home , I'm now divorced with my youngest at 16 and have a little campervan but still come every year!
Jill Drucker

Congrats on the 30 years. My best friend, wife and I have been coming to Eype for the last few years as a tradition around the 4 of July weekend! (I am American :) ) We absolutely love your location as well as the top right corner of the camping sites.
Justin Banrey

We’ve stayed in tents, Campervans and hut; in rain or shine, wind and storm every year as school holidays just start at the end of July. We are a group of women neighbours and friends and all our daughters. We have enjoyed Eype from when some of our little girlies were toddlers, and again this year we’re booked and so are our daughters even now they’re in their twenties!
Thanks to Eype we have a magical reunion every year. Congratulations of your 30th anniversary at Eype House and thanks for the special
memories
I am personally booked into the Upper Hut this year and excited already!
Ruth Hardy

Sadly I couldn't find photos showing very much of your lovely site or staff, or any from the 1990's, but it was great to recall that we have camped, camper-vaned and caravanned with you over the decades. Also very evocative to recall the stages our children have grown through, recorded at Eype!
Mark Berry

We’ve been going to Eype for over 30 years now every May bank holiday. It started as a group of work friends (when we were very young) escaping for a camping weekend. That tradition has carried on and most of us now have families and I’m sure it won’t be long before some of us are grand parents!
Peter & Jane Haycocks
Gosh have they really been there that long. Well done.
We first came to Eype to stay on the camp site before your mum and dad and your grandparents took it over. Think we stayed when there were 2 previous owners.
Myself and children went to the cinema in Bridport the first year and left my husband to hang on to the tent which was in danger of being blown away-to put it mildly. Next morning half the camp site was flattened. There were so many people queueing to get into the cinema, the owner told us the film-The Jungle Book- wouldn't start until everyone was in-no starting at the scheduled time! I seem to remember that near the end of the film it went off for about 5 minutes then re-started, could that happen today everyone would want there money back? Enough rambling on.
You would think that our experience that first year would have put us off coming but it didn't and we have been most years since then-now with grandchildren, upgraded to a caravan though.
Things have changed a lot. There wasn't a big supermarket in Bridport so there was much more reliance on the site shop. Plenty of hot food to be bought there too.
Janet Jackson

Congratulations on 30 years.
We have been coming to your park and also the hotel since 1997 ish.
We love it in Eype and are always sad to leave.
Neal Burnell & Wendy Batchelor

I can’t believe it’s been thirty years!  What a lovely surprise.  I’ve been holidaying in Eype since I was a little girl.  The last photo is of me and my brother in the late 1960.
Love from The Stevenson’s

Congratulations to the family for what you have done at Eype House Caravan Park over the years. We love your site and we are pleased that it has not been too commercialised.
Many thanks and see you on May 17th (hopefully).
Tim & Vicky Bilton

We first came to the park 12 years ago for a friend’s birthday celebration and fell in love with it - so have been back every year for May half term bringing different friends and children who are now all as loyal! It’s honestly the highlight of our holiday year - and is an essential ‘recharge’. It’s the friendliest site and we love it  - Graham is always on hand to sort out any small problem. I think our children combined must have spent more on sweets and the foil scratch pictures from the shop than I have on bookings - and as for the Devon Dorset cake and clotted cream ... that’s another reason I have to return every year! Thank you so much for all the joy you have brought us all - it’s amazing to have been open 30 years and I’m afraid we will be returning for many more years to come xx

Congratulations! Our favourite place to go from Oxford since 1986! Have a great celebration! Hope to see you later in the year....( if we can find a vacancy!!!)
With best wishes to all
‘The Listers’

My wife and I first stayed at Eype House Caravan park when we cycled from Exeter to Weymouth 30 years ago and since then have been back many times either as tent campers, in our small motor home or in one of the statics.
Standout moments, camping in the middle ranks in a tent next to the actor Clive Mantle, my wife was distracted all weekend. Wonder how many celebrity visitors you have had? Graham having to tow my campervan out of the flower bed by the toilets when I had reversed it down the hil and lost a bit of control! He was a lot calmer than I was.
I attach a photo of us on the site in July 2012 when the storms hit and the Beamister tunnel collapsed when we were the only people to stay overnight. it was a reminder of what a beautiful place it is and how its relationship with the sea is so strong.
All the best to your family its the best site in the country bar none!
thank you
